- Horn Regence Set-
I acquired a 20th century Vietnamese carved horn Regence set from the strange and mysterious anonymous chess collector. Here is another example of French occupation leaving a mark on local chess set design. Vietnamese artisans used water buffalo and cattle horn to carve pieces in this heavily French influenced design and laid mother of pearl into the black lacquered board. Kings are 3". I have a miniature version of this set as well, one of the first sets I acquired.
